the background music in the penumbra podcast is SO GOOD and no one talks about it
#okay but I do actually have a lot of in depth thoughts about the music-#its honestly the best soundtrack ever and im not just saying this because i love the show#its genuinely a masterpiece#I could 100% write a whole essay on it and maybe I will -#but the way master thiefs and private eyes takes pieces of both Juno's theme and Nureyev's theme just works so well and it breaks my heart#i honestly have so many thoughts#tpp#juno steel

we've talked a lot about the lyrical content of the album but i wanted to say something about the musical side of it too. starting with autiomaa, because it struck me as musically so different.
first thing that kinda surprised me and poked me in the heart a little bit was the singing melody in the part that goes "hiekkaa silmissä, mut en mä näkis mitään muutenkaan", because that's not an easy melody to sing, considering he isn't a super strong clean singing vocalist. (i could write a whole essay about how he is vocally more able and more versatile than what people give him credit for, but strong melodic singing is not his top priority and that's perfectly fitting for what he does.)
so the melody challenges him and it goes somewhere you don't quite expect. as it keeps climbing higher and higher in that minor key, it sounds.. desperate. really sad. combined with the lyric about not being able to see, it's kinda haunting to me, and hearing that part the first time it kinda.. caught my breath in my throat because it sounds almost like pleading.
the first verse uses a lot of autotune and his delivery of the lyrics is in a lower and more monotone voice. i get this feeling of like... there isn't much emotion behind the voice at first. he sounds resigned, numb. and it's like the autotune is there to highlight that. the feeling of life being almost like automated. the autotune makes the voice sound a bit emotionless and machine-like, but also as if the autotune is trying to mask the monotone quality of it all, the monotone quality of life.
because the autotune is not there as much anymore in the second verse. and he sings higher in the second verse, with more effort and with much more emotion. oh he sounds a bit desperate again and it pokes me in the heart a little bit. he sounds like he is willing himself to be okay.
the synth sound that repeats the striking chorus melody, it reminds me of the synth sound in CCC, but like it's a distorted and broken version of that. a distorted version of the sound that, when heard basically anywhere in 2023, had people running towards it. a distorted version of the sound that no doubt represents a lot of mixed emotions. and when the song is kinda stripped down the way it is, what is standing at the end of the day is a beat, him and a distorted synth.
the beat and the chord progressions in the backing track remind me of things like scifi movie soundtracks, tron or something. there's a loneliness to that sound, because it's so easily associated with dystopias. it's like the soundscape of a digital desert. very fitting to this song, i think. i think it's a very well produced sound and a well produced track. there's also a moment, right before "kunhan kuuntelet" when the beat disappears. it kinda made me feel like i was falling, but it also really higlights what he's saying. how he is asking for you, us, anyone, to just listen, so the sound and the beat make room for that.
and one more detail. the one single yeehaw after the first verse, after "miks sydän ei oo happy, vaik se on lucky niinku luke". it's not there after the second verse anymore. and like. that one single yeehaw is so unbelievably sad to me. because it's like a demonstration of that whole thing where he's trying to be entertaining and trying to be funny, even when he feels nothing, just empty. like.. it's funny but it's not funny, not at all. it's almost painful that it's there. chills.
and one last thing i want to say about the lyrics. not so much about the content but i just want to say how much i like the way he uses language. he very clearly has a very good ear for what sounds good, what kind of syllables flow together, and he is very good at writing lyrics that are both interesting in their content but also just.. pleasing to listen to, as just sounds of the human voice. many such moments in this song, like "en mä näkis mitään muutenkaan" and "tunturin laki josta puuttuu puut" and the way he uses the words laki and lucky in close proximity. he's a good lyricist.
and this is a really good song.

WIP Questionaire
Thank you @worldstogetlostin for tagging me here!
Rules: Answer as many (or as few) of the questions about your WIP as you can.
1. What was the first part of your wip that you created?
My ocs, but not all of them. They were part of a separate plotline that I abandoned quickly because it was terrible and cringy. Parts of them changed as they developed, but the core of their characters began here.
The originals are: Annamarie, Rachel, Jacob, Elaine, Jol (the daemon), and Natalie (Anna's mom)
2. If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?
I imagine it would be like the soundtracks I listen to while writing. These include songs from Narnia, HTTYD, Pirates of the Carribean, etc. I'm no composer, so I'd trust the judgment of the music expert on the case.
3. Who are your favourite characters you've made? Why?
My automatic instinct is to jump to "all of them," but I'll be reasonable here and keep it brief because I could write an essay about each of them. I won't because a) that's ridiculous to do here, and b) a lot of this has to do with spoilers/stuff on the down-low. My Top 3 (these may be surprising or not) in no particular order are:
Seniar- He's more than Anna's dad, he's lived many lives and seen too much. He's a prince who stepped up to protect his people, defied expectations, and fell in love with a human, earned his place as a war hero, and did his best to protect and raise his daughter after everything he had known and cared for was destroyed in front of him. He might not be perfect, but he's dedicated his life to other people and still provides for his daughter despite carrying the burden of his past.
Roselle- The living dead, her existence shakes the very foundation of my other characters. After being introduced to the universe, nothing was the same, and it was all for the better. She also has this strange charm about her, like she demands attention. Her life and her death are quite possibly the 2nd and 3rd most influential factors in my entire plotline- only outdone by the destruction of Ariya. She's also on a team of her own with a willingness to overlook the rulebook, which makes her extremely fun to write.
Jacob- He's caring but distant at the same time, his family is a disaster, and he's a rule follower and a rule breaker all at once. He's an enigma and has been from the start. You think you know him, but do you really? He's always running from something, facing challenges like he's trying to prove something to himself. Him and his siblings are the driving force of a lot of plot lines, and for good reason. You just can't help but wonder whether he is a good person or a bad person, and maybe he's just both.
4. What other pieces of media do you think would share a fan base for your story?
I'm honestly not 100% sure. My inspiration to write this WIP truly started with Percy Jackson, so there could be some crossover there. Really anyone with an interest in fantasy and okay with dark subjects could find it interesting.
5. What has been your biggest struggle with your wip?
Writer's block. Whether it's because a character wasn't connecting with the action the way I wanted them to, or if I'm having a day that everything I write isn't something I'm proud of... I'm in college and work, so there's often a lot on my mind, and stress and creativity don't flow well together in my brain.
6. Are there animals in your story? Talk about them!
Anna(marie) has a cat named Isa(belle) who she picked up while moving around with her father. Isa is a beautiful and sweet black Turkish Angora whose personality is modeled after my childhood cat Belle. She's not a major focus, but she means a lot to Anna as one of the few beings she could connect with outside of her father.
All other animals are wildlife and have to do with worldbuilding, which could go crazy, so I'll stop it there.
7. How do your characters get around? (ex. trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.)
While on Earth and involved in traditionally human things, they travel in cars because their goal is to blend in and hide in plain sight.
In the list of natural (magic) Hecathian abilities, one of them is Teleportation. Characters with this ability, or in proximity to someone who is, travel this way. The challenge is it takes more energy the further you are traveling and needs quite a bit of practice and discipline to do it safely and correctly. A couple examples of characters with this power are Seniar, Annamarie (duh), and Jaleya (Cameron's sister).
8. What part of your wip are you working on rn?
Chapter 16- near the middle of book 1.
Not even close to where I want to end this.
9. What aspects (tropes, maybe?) of your wip do you think will draw people in?
I suppose the variety of aspects that appear. There is action, adventure, drama, complex characters and relationship dynamics, worldbuilding aspects, and the world and timeline just keeps expanding with different stories to tell. There's a lot to choose from, and it's all interconnected in the same universe.
10. What are your hopes for your wip?
I have a whole series planned, plus spin-offs and expanded stories to supplement it. I hope I have time to get through all of it because I want my main WIP and its world to someday be a complete set and no longer stuck only in my brain and scattered through thousands of notes.
Lightly tagging @my-cursed-prince, @willtheweaver, @jacqueswriteblrlibrary, @ashen-crest and anyone else who wants to tell me about their WIP!

hi hi hi! I saw twisters in theatres TWICE, and it's been turning my brain into swiss cheese, I know your post says you want someone to talk to you about it, but I'm going to be honest all the thoughts in my brain are just tyler owens soundtrack funky truck TORNADO SOUNDTRACK GLEN POWELL in a loop, so I'm not the most coherent
If you're gauging audience appeal for your seven essays please know I am parked and ready to engage 👀🌪
okay I WILL tag you when I manage to get my thoughts together but ummm YES SOUNDTRACK my goodness I can actually listen to nothing else I only want country songs about wind and rain and oklahoma. And I could write one of those essays just on his truck! Okay okay something something in a world of increasingly electric cars and the horrible cybertruck this movie gives us what trucks should be, weirdly modified do-it-all filthy indestructible cowboy machines. Okay? okay. And the wind and the beauty of something so terrible and the undercurrent of healing and the deep magical chemistry of cowboy ethics or something like that and Tyler Owens and tragedy and death and joy and excitement and thrill and fear and love and I can’t even wrap my head around it yet!!!!!

Get To Know People Better Tag Game
I was tagged by @graysparrowao3! thank you!
Three Ships:
So I assume this is like favorites? Okay, I'll try to do separate fandoms as well to keep it interesting and I'll try and make it less common ships, not exactly rare ships per se because like... I am very shy and anxiety prone so truthfully iunno what's rare and not because I don't engage a lot.
Thunderweave (Gale/Rolan) : I really like this one, even more since my fiancee and I RPed it with the idea of transmasc Rolan. It's really kind of interesting and also Rolan deserves a better fellow wizard than Lorroakan and I think Gale is a great fellow wizard being both talented, secure in his abilities, but also willing to see the potential and power in another person. Also I super identify with Rolan and my fiancee does a really good really convincing Gale for RP and cosplay. Kabru/Mithrun: I initially preferred Kabru/Laios, which I still really like honestly, but I read a longer post about Mithrun's disabilities and his trauma and how Kabru treats him like a person when most people don't and like as a heavily traumatized person who became suddenly and severely disabled as a result, I really really relate and hope that my partners will show me that same level of care when they are able (distance has been the main reason why not, my mom has mainly been the one taking care of me since I became disabled so I don't really know what my partners will do in person because one lives far away and one has been called away on family issues since before this became a major issue) Thraina (Thrall/Jaina) : This is the only hetero ship I consistently come back to. I usually prefer Sylvanas/Jaina, but realistically I don't want to put that one here for only one reason. Sylvanas/Jaina has a lot of basis in what it could be (No one at Blizzard who has been there consistently through their entire development is talented enough to have made it work so it's all theoretical and based on what much better unpaid fanfiction writers decide). Thraina, meanwhile was unintentionally somehow written as one of the most equitable, healtyh, equal, and level relationships in all of WoW and it wasn't even canon...mainly because Metzen is a weird creepy misogynist (one of the main reasons I actually mainly write Aggra/Jaina as a ship actually, because both deserve better and are, in theory, better than that bag of derivative Marvel obsessed dicks allows them to be) but anyway, it's just fascinating to me how the healthiest ship in WoW was axed, shut down, and denied despite how genuinely good it was. I could write essays on this, I *HAVE* written essays on this, but I'll spare you. First ship: Domon Kasshu/Chibodee Crockett (G Gundam) but also Meg Giry and Christine Daae (Phantom of the Opera) these were simultaneous, so honestly I had to put both.
Last Song: Where You Are (Moana Soundtrack)
Last Movie: it was this obscure random horror movie I found on Peacock called 'Wait Till Helen Comes' about a child ghost. I tend to since I've been unable to work stay up late making costume pieces and writing and pick random horror movies for background. It wasn't bad, honestly.
Currently reading: Humblewood campaign setting book for an actual play I want to do Faerun 3.5 Player's Guide for flavor bits for my BG3 fanfics and location lore for my BG 3 sequel campaign Cinderwich by Cherie Priest
Currently watching:
Interview With a Vampire Crispy's Tavern Currently Eating: Opera Cake Currently craving: The nastiest, filthiest Durgetash ERP, preferably with my fiancee as Gortash. Favorite color: Purple
Current Obsession: BG 3 Prehistoric ocean animals Junji Ito Sharks in general Costuming Fatal Frame Last thing I googled: Sophia Loren Favorite Season: WInter
Skill I'd like to learn: Shoe making Metalurgy Best advice: You're never done learning until you're dead...even then, let's assume we get reincarnated and then rinse, repeat, start learning again. I'm tagging @iron-bullogna @vialae @vestigialpersonality @dm-dragonpuff

I'd love to get a match if you're still doing them!!
I'm currently listening to American Teenagers by Ethel Cain. There's something about the lyrics that remind me of my angsty teen years. I'm really stuck on the lyrics "crying in the bleachers and I said it was fun", super relatable lol. I'm also stuck in Hummingbird by The Haunting. My favorite lyrics are "I wish you'd walk in and I miss you pillow talk"
My ennagram type is INFP
I love video essays, the longer the better, but I especially like the ones about videogames I'll never play. I just finished one about no more heroes that was fun.
My go to way to fall asleep is my fan on full blast, covered in a large blanket, and kicking my foot back and forth until I fall asleep, which is pretty fast since the motion soothes me for whatever reason.
I love the Guy confession audio. I love Guy's energy and how he goes from light hearted to fairly serious. He seems so chill and funny and his confession was so sweet.
I'm not a big fan of David. He's cool, but I like guys who are more gentle and emotionally open I guess?
I'd love to be best friends with Gavin because he's so supportive and fun. I think he'd be tons of fun to hangout with. Or Huxley, he's so sweet.
I've researched criminal minds more times than I can count. I love crime shows and such, but I'm not a fan of the personal character drama. I just want to see people solve crime. I know the endings to them all but still like them.
When I'm tired I love to ramble about human behavior. I'm really shy and bad at social interactions so it's usually me hyper analyzing an interaction and pointing out all the ways society's social standards are weird, at least to me lol.
Other stuff- I'm a fairly artistic person, I love paint and drawing, I also enjoy cooking. I'm shy and soft spoken in public but loud when I'm around people I like. I also love sleeping and naps. I'm a bit of a pushover and need people to like me but do like helping people. I also love listening to music, picking just 1 song to write about was hard so I picked two because I like so many, sorry!
Thanks!!
Okay, so hear me out. He gets a little bit of a bad rap because of the whole Sadism’s Hold thing, but you and Ivan, specifically FlyBoi!Ivan, would be so cute together, give him a CHANCE-
I get the irony of pairing you with someone who could have once been on Criminal Minds, I swear, but I feel like Ivan is a wonderfully gentle soul when not being otherwise manipulated. His normal voicemails are proof of that, that he’s thoughtful and communicative and not afraid of being vulnerable and putting his heart out there, you know? This would wonderfully complement the sensitivity that INFPs are known for.
Overall, I think you’d have a lovely, sweet, domestic sort of life together. Ivan also strikes me as a people pleaser which is great because when you pair people pleasers together, you get a couple who consistently looks out for one another’s needs. He travels for work and never forgets to call home or ask what new creative project you’re working on, never lets you forget he’s thinking about and missing you.
Song:
You could be dancing on tabletops/ Wearing high-heels/ Drinking until the world/ Spins like a wheel/ But tonight your apartment/ Had so much appeal/ Who needs stars?/ We've got a roof/ But there's nothing/ Like doing nothing/ With you
I don’t have a firm grasp of what genre Ivan would like, but I do like the slower, swaying vibes of this song for you. It’s sweet, relaxing, the soundtrack to when he finally comes home from a work trip and is grateful to see you napping on the couch in the dimming, sunsetting light of your living room.
Runner-Ups:
Morgan is a runner-up because he has a lot of similar vibes to Flyboi!Ivan, though I don’t know him well enough to match him confidently and he doesn’t strike me as forthcoming with his love and emotions. Cam was a closer candidate if I had not really liked the domestic vibes of you with a human or unempowered person.
note: if you don’t like Ivan and I took too big of a risk I am SO SORRY but he’s a darling and I love him he’s so lovable
Read this post and send me an ask if you’d like a match-up of your own! 💌

A List of Books I read.
Unlike years before, where I'd normally make a list of fave records or artists, this year I decided that I am no longer the 2012 version of me who was obsessed in never missing out new artists, albums and list that recommended best new music.
My apple music wrapped showed me that since 2016 my most listen song is the same (it's Cranes in the Sky by Solange, because A Seat at the Table is probably one of my favorite records of all times, so much so, it became the soundtrack of my masters thesis) and Beyoncé is still my favorite artist (has been since 2013). And because graduating from my masters gave me the break I needed to go back to reading stuff I care and like, I decided to simply write here the books I read this year. Some were good, some were really fucking good, and some were...well, they were books written by people with far more talent than I'll ever have, and thye got published.
In any case, the truth of the matter is that 2023 was the year of reading for me. I've been a Reader since I was a kid, but with academic work, for many years I didn't have the time or the energy to read what I really cared about- I had to write thesis and papers and essays and they all required I focused on reading what I needed to write those papers and essays and thesis. In addition to Academia, being depressed and having serious bouts of sadness and suicidal thoughts for many years -it hasn't stopped, although therapy has help a bit- also caused that for many years I could barely read things, and that includes many books I was suppose to read during college but didn't- not that I care much about this, but sometimes I do feel guilty about people reading Kant and me pretending I was and that I actually understood what that german hellman was writing about.
However, when I realized I could pick up books that I thought would give me comfort, joy, or simply piked my interest, then I decided I simply had to read, and since 2021, I've given myself the chance to do just that. It no longer matters to me if read a few pages, or read obsessively one book in a matter of hours, at the end, what matters to me, is to read (although when I read on my ipad I do have a 20 minute timer thingy and I do have a focus mode that doesn't allow any apps to interrupt my reading). This has allowed me to feel more comfortable with the fact I realized reading (like writing) is a political act. About 5/6 years ago I decided I would not read academic books unless it was strictly necessary, and if for research I needed to find bibliography, I would make sure I would have a diverse set of voices and not just white, western, cishet male writers. This didn't please most of my professors, especially the male ones, who consider most of my sources to be unrealiable because they weren't men. Some pointed out that as Colombian, I was suppose to choose only spanish writers, and when I did, they got upset because they weren't men. But, in the end, because I learnt that I couldn't sit down to wait for them to catch up to me, I forced my authors in, and I do not regret this decision. I owe the education I have to myself, and myself only. So, in the wise words of Snoop Dogg, I wanna thank me. This has made me a very good reader and an okay Academic.
I also decided that, if I was going to read fiction and non fiction, poetry and essays; then I had to think carefully what authors I wanted to read. Because I wasn't the audience male writers wanted: I am not a man, nor I am white, and as I currently struggle to label my gender, I realized I wanted to read the so-called outside of the canon, peripheral writers/voices/narratives/stories. That decision has proven to be difficult, because I have to constantly check not only what I'm reading but who I'm reading. At the same time, from time to time -especially this year, as this is the year I read many books-, I stop, check myself, and after I realize I'm not following my rules, I re-calibrate my reads and make sure I find my way back to the voices and stories I want to support, engage with, and care about.
Finally, someone on Mastodon pointed out the following questions, that made me realized my decision to read authours outside the so-called canon should be more thoughtful, more political. The questions I paraphrased here for the simple reason of leaving them here, in case anyone finds them: why aren't voices outisde the priviledge that narrate stories that white voices can narrate [from a place, with a voice, about whom and which contexts...]? If they do exist, why aren't those voices published? And if they are published, why aren't we reading them. "I believe it is important to question more who can become writers, who is published and what do we read".
Here's my list of books read in 2023*.
Books I bought because the cover was cute, interesting, or tumblr aesthetic inspired.
Las palabras que confiamos al viento, by Laura Imai Messina.
La clase de griego, by Han Kang.
Books I bought that I got because the title sounded interesting and they fucking were.
Milk fed, by Melissa Broder.
Today, Tonight Tomorrow, by Rachel Lynn Salomon.
Good Material, by Dolly Alderton.
The women of Troy, by Pat Barker.
Books I read and when I was done, I actually wanted to throw my ipad, my kindle or the book out the window.
Happy place, by Emily Henry.
A perfect vintage, by Chelsea Fagan.
The roughest draft, by Emily Wibberley and Agustin Siegmund-Broka.
Crazy Stupid Bromance, by Lyssa Kay Adams.
To Sir with love, by Lauren Layne.
Spare, by Prince Harry.
Plot twist, by Erin de la Rosa.
How to fake it in Hollywood, by Ava Wilder.
Next of Kin, by Hannah Bonam-Young.
Books I really didn't understand, but I know they were good.
La encomienda, by Margarita García Robayo.
History books I read that I wasn't sure why I got them, but they were okay (I guess).
Piratas: Una historia desde los vikingos hasta hoy, by Peter Lerh.
The Last million: Europe's displaced persons from World War II, by David Nasaw.
Imperial Twilight: The Opium War and the End of China's Last Golden Age, by Stephen R. Platt.
Non-fiction books that fucked me up (the good way).
How to read, by Elaine Castillo.
You Could Make this Place Beautiful, by Maggie Smith.
Seventeen, by Joe Gibson.
Against White Feminism: Notes on Disruption, by Rafia Zakaria.
Hijab Butch Blues, by Lamya H.
Romantic Comedies or simply Romance books that were a nice read but lacked a bit of complexity, although such fun read they still got my 4/5 stars on Goodreads and Apple Books.
Nora Goes Off Script, by Annabel Monaghan.
Romantic Comedy, Curtis Sttenfeld.
The Bride Test, by Helen Hoang.
The Heart Principle, by Helen Hoang.
Once more with Feeling, by Elissa Sussman.
The Fastest Way to Fall, by Denise Williams.
Weather Girl, by Rachel Lynn Solomon.
The Ex Talk, by Rachel Lynn Solomon.
Authors that wrote seriously great books and I don't think the 5 stars on Goodreads and Apple books was enough.
Matrix, by Lauren Groff.
Woman, Eating; by Claire Khoda.
Mucho Ado about Nada, by Uzma Jalalauddin.
Ayesha at Last, by Uzma Jalalauddin.
A Shot in the Dark, by Victoria Lee.
Hamnet, by Maggie O'Farrell.
Business or Pleasure, by Rachel Lynn Solomon.
You, Again; by Kate Goldbeck.
Hamnet, by Maggie O'Farrell.
Eligible: A Modern Retelling of Pride & Prejudice, by Curtis Sittenfeld.
For 2024, there's a really long list of pre-ordered books (some are essays, some are memoirs, some are romcoms). I also have a respectable list of books that I was suppose to read this year but I couldn't because I didn't want to, or I started it but I switch it and I'll get back to them. I don't know what next year will have in store for me- this year was so difficult, so painful, that has made me realized I still am in a crossroad whether I want to stay alive or not; but at least I had books, and I was able to find in the reading hours time to rest from my own feelings and thoughts. If 2024 is the year where something happens, I hope at least it has books. And maybe some more writing in this blog.
*Please keep in mind that some weren't published in the present year, and some others were readings I started in 2022 and only finished this year.

okay @softhecreator you asked for some inexplicable reason for my bones and all thoughts and this is a shambles i am a mess but sof i feel like you'll understand
SO bones and all
basically end me
there were tears
twice actually
once at the end of course because oh my god when the music plays over him screaming his guts out nooooo no it took me back to fuckin sirius falling through the veil there's just something about quiet music playing over absolute agony HAHA BYE pain pain pain
the way he just keeps repeating those words as if maren could actually go through with it AND THEN SHE DOES SHE HAS NO CHOICE PAIIIN FHFJGG
and then next second luca the masochist cuts to a clean apartment no blood no trace of lee fuck you luca
then the coffee shop scene so soft so sweet and when the "you seem nice" "i AM nice" nope ouch
also when the camera moves as if you're maren looking at lee and it pans over his body starting from his elbow GOD idk why that affected me so much
like he's right there in front of you this other mirror this piece of yourself it's sitting right there watching you watching yourself SEEING yourself through him and you can't fucking keep eye contact it's too much
and watching maren discover that she is him he is her i could write a fucking essay
not as gory as i thought considering the subject matter
dare i say tastefully done
moving on
lee's little shoestring belt and cardigan fit was a LOOK
and that scene in the field on the hill and lee's death grip on maren's top as if she's all that's keeping him together oh my god
also the opening scene is so luca i almost started sobbing there and then
just all the textures on the paintings and the colours
so beautiful, the entire film is a masterpiece every frame every palette everyyyyythinngggg
"we could be people"
the little moments throughout the roadtrip like a beautiful mosaic ughhhhhg
the soft car scenes when either of them are sleeping
the whole discussion around keeping the truck until it breaks down my sentimental heart
maren's scene with her mother when i tell you i knocked my drink over i'm sure you'll understand
the soundtrack THE SOUNDTRACKKKKK so good
joy division on a ferris wheel what more could you want
but for balance the cringiest thing was timothée dancing to kiss like yes free spirit stupid fedora wearing disenfranchised indie cannibal i see the intent but all i saw was lanky baguette IM SORRY
however genuinely up there with his best performances
it's just so different but makes perfect sense for him like you can tell he put his entire soul into lee
boy really can't compete with taylor tho
this film is alllllll taylor's
her delivery of "all i think is that i love you" when i tell you my soul ascended to a higher plain
tho i do do get that thing people are saying
you miss lee when he's not on screen he's such a PRESENCE even when he's so obviously broken
basically i loved it so good luca is incredible but then what else is new
#bones and all#timothee chalamet#timothée chalamet#taylor russell#luca guadagnino#softhecreator#u asked i am so sorry this is such a mess i am a mess

Copied from discord because i lost it in there KJASDHFLKAJSDFHLK
Who was developed? Wrecker. Why? Because of his trope. They stick to those tropes HARD all the way to the end gotta hand the writers that at least. Was the empire really developed? No Andor creating everything it did in six episodes and I think roughly the same number of hours and and tbb gives us a hiccup about the chain codes and the ends of the production of clones which we already knew about The lighting is nice the render is nice the lip sync is okay the VAing needs WORK. the soundtrack esp the main theme leaves much to be desired. the story just needs. some kind of overhaul. how tf can your premiere actually make the show less appealing. it went from unbearable to tolerable ive had that happen once to me before and that was The Office AKJSDHFLAJSFDHLKAS remember how they kept saying tbb would be darker than tcw. they had bitches heads bouncing in season 1 what did the tbb do HM? every time i went into an episode i was like wow the needle has not budged theyre digging their feet in on the whole Tell over showing wowowowow Did you know that Wrecker, as the demo expert, almost exclusively uses a gun? Did you know that crosshair's absence actually did not materially affect the team at all either in performance or emotional cohesion? Did you know that these people actually dont really care about each other and they really feel more like roommates with weapons who all have to look after a spunky kid than a family? You can't just call everything found family they gotta actually act like it and omega waiting until like 4 episodes before the finale to call the batch her brothers is not. how you wanna go about that. and they dont like. call her their sister when speaking about her to other people crosshair's fascism is actually a lot stronger than I remember like he's just on a constant path of doubling down i think his stans are just deluding themselves as to his moral standing and also frankly disrespecting his character for insisting he has 0 autonomy and is actually Really Good deep down why was one of the nicest moments when tbb all turned their guns on crosshair bc they thought he had the capacity to shoot hunter and/or a literal child why dont we get more tense moments like that
lie hot damn. what a (nothing) show. this could have easily faded from the collective conscious of star wars but its animated and animated well and also the Trope Troupe (4/5 man band set up) is always popular ig because of how goddamn easy it is to write and absorb? because who ever strays from that i was called slurs over this show lmao NAWT to spam yall with essentially a preview to the video essay about tbb i may or may not be writing next year but the fact that i cant even nail down a central theme-- is it family? only at the end and some parts in the middle. is it choice? not really? are they always on survival mode? yeah. does it FEEL like that? no because these bitches got something giggly going on 24/7 like the tonality is allll over the placeeeeee your fascist brother is hunting you for sport because he willingly joined a genocidal authoritarian regime that wants you and your kid sister dead why was the humorous writing outpacing literally every other mood by a mile
this show is like. style over substance. it wants the credit of creating an emotional story without doing any of the work to create that feeling in the slightest. a nothing burger. fireworks but its more smoke than flash. a tease of a theme here or there to keep you on the edge of your seat in the sense that youll sit there like "wow will they go down that road? will they address the size 00 elephant (crosshair) in the room?" and its almost always no some say a show doesnt need to be deep to be good i say yes it does because i have taste and no patience. and also good is so subjective as a metric for quality it just sounds like a disingenous argument from the start my friends and i were harassed over this show entire people leaving the fandom bc-- ok. im done. thats my review!

OFMD Favs Tag Game
I was tagged by- @likethehotsauce Thank you so much! Always love to rant.
(I'm probably not doing this right, cause I'm just using this a an excuse to look back on the parts of the show itself that I love, but I needed to write an essay today. And it's been months since I went back to my Stede/Ed roots. Before Izzy latched himself onto my brain. So here's some love!)
favorite Ed gif:
Look, I love ep7, especially on rewatches. Most rom-coms run into the trouble of not showing the audience our protagonists bond. They rarely get to relax around each other before the relationship really starts but that's what this episode is.
We've got Ed, who's starting to get comfortable/settled in around Stede. Stede having a fun little adventure, trying to make Ed thinks he's cool. Ed genuinely having a shitty day and finally getting that Stede cares about him. It's really fucking sweet. This gif just wraps that all up in a cute ball. The fit? Amazing. The lil hop? Adorable. Edward essentially telling everyone to shut up and just let Stede have his fun? Cute pre-boyfriend moment. He's a goofball, and this episode needs more love on here.
favorite Stede gif:
Yeah, yeah. Ed's here. But the scene is focusing on Stede and resolving an arc (my favorite thing), so it counts! Stede has issues feeling accepted. He has gone without a 'crew' for so long that he's unapologetically who he is. He already feels along, why the fuck would he care about dressing up and being a bit too 'feminine'? They already make fun of him for not being enough, he already feels along. Why wouldn't he try to be happy not giving a shit about what they think?
So, in ep 10, we see a Stede who feels accepted into a family. He gets to get up there with a silly little in-joke and have people put their trust in him. Are they doing this to get back at the Navy? Yeah. But Stede build himself a place where he feels like he can be accepted and welcomed. I don't always see Stede in the best light. Accountability is a huge thing for me, and S2 better include this guy fessing up for the hurt he's caused. But this scene always makes me smile when I think about it.
favorite Ed outfit:
:). I know what I'm about. I'm simple, and if you've been here a while, you already know. We get to see Edward proudly rocking Stede's lil handkerchief. The tummy is great, and so is seeing his tattoos. I always love a fingerless glove, and his jewelry is on point. Yes, I love Ed in soft fabrics. Especially the loose poet shirt moment in ep 4. But in my head, this is Ed being a frat guy and trying to seduce Stede. 'Usually the exposed skin and touching works :('. Cause this poor guy has had to seduce assholes like Jack, and isn't comfortable with opening up yet. Ed's also just having fun exposing Stede to 'pirate' things which is a favorite trope of mine.
favorite Stede outfit:
Unironically? All of them.
Next question.
OKAY. FINE. IF I HAVE TO CHOOSE-
Gender. Whole lotta gender right here. I'm a sucker for loose fabric and BOY.
Open Shirt? Yes. Hideously colored mustard robe that works because it's a part of the whole 'look'. Achieved. Rings? Amazing. Fluffy shirt that's a button-up? Yep, you could totally reveal more chest.
FLUFFY SLEVES!!!! AHHH. But seriously, most of his outfits are amazing. I chose like five different Gifs-before settling on this for the lace sleeves.
favorite Blackbonnet song:
Oh boy! Buckle up.
(I have 2 playlists with these 2 with around 40 total hours of music on Spotify from the 4 months post ep10 airing where I only read these two. So any answer I give is going to )
Stede POV specific('A Stede Soundtrack' on spotify)- Five Bells- CoCo and The Butterfields. Yes, I have better ones, but the general vibe is just happy, light, and in love. Excited for the future. (If this song is actually about something else, keep me innocent). With instrumentals, and dancing, and fucking joy. I love this song. 2.) Being 'May It Last'- The Avett Brothers if Folk music isn't your thing. 3.) 'The Bitch is Back'-Elton John For bitchy Stede. The best flavor.
Edward POV specific ('Blackbeard's Breakup' on Spotify)- Desperately in love Ed? 'honey'-Coastal Club. yes, I am a pet name Edward truther. Also a song about being excited by life and by love. If it's Stede Hating, Kraken era? 'Money, Money, Money'-ABBA. Yes, I know Edward is now the breadwinner, but it's very Him.
Gentlebeard. Sad era- 'Last Request'- Paolo Nutini. Oh shit, I have a crush era- 'I think I love you'-Specifically the Tenacious D cover. It's Jack Black, how can you hate it? Desperately in love- 'An Old Fashioned Love Song'-Paul Williams. This song has been in my Spotify top 100 for years. I fucking love it.
favorite OFMD fic trope:
HAHA! You didn't specify the ship, so I get to bring up Izzy.
SteddyHands specific- Stede&Ed working together/competing for Izzy to choose them first. Especially if Ed&Stede already know that Izzy has a crush on them but Izzy doesn't. I don't read this ship too much anymore, but this always made me happy.
Izzy Specific-Post S1 Izzy hunting down Stede, hijinks ensuing. Izzy gets injured, and this starts his character jornery into a mentally healthier person. Him getting loved tbh. Aslo, Izzy getting described as short. He's really not that much shorter than most of the crew. I just love when it's brought up.
Long fic- Anything character based, post S2 'reunion'. Essentially skipping how they all resolved S1 and skips to the fun parts. Love Izzy learning/starting to care for the crew. If reading a fic kinda feels like going to therapy, you're doing it right. Huge shoutout to anyone who has tried to break down how Izzy's brain works for angst fic. Also, Ed and Stede being held accountable for some of their more shitty actions.
Short Fic- You know what, I'll say it. I like soulmate (and adjacent) AUs. Love me a Hanahaki, or similar curses. If there's a story reason two characters are dubiously forced to admit their feelings, I'm there. I love that 'what if they don't like me' rant even though its destined, I love the holding yourself back to keep another person happy shit. Yes, irl, that'd be fucked. But since it's a short fic, it doesn't need to worry about all that.
Trope Tropes- Buttons being a Disney princess around animals. Lucius living in the walls. Izzy swears every other sentence. Any media of the Revenge (music, stories) being super out of time period. Two characters are falling in love, but are the last people to realize it. Stede being a pirate parent.
Ed’s hair or Stede’s hair:
I agree with what likethehotsauce said. Both fit the character really well. I can't imagine Stede or Ed suddenly shaving their head. It's a part of who they are.
If this is about me wanting their hair? I'm choosing Ed's. I've had Stede length hair for the past 2 years, and miss braiding my hair. Also, his hair looks soft as shit. Good to run your fingers through, etc.
longest gap between rewatches:
July 2022-January 2023. I watched it like 13 times post ep 10 aired, then immediately jumped into fan content. I'm a huge 'character' person when consuming media, so I generally enjoy doing that vs rewatching the show itself again.
Lucius is Hiding in the Ship vs. Lucius is Dead and a Ghost:
No corpse= Not dead. Once Ed and Stede reunite I don't think Ed would be able to forgive himself if he actually killed him. Lucius was saved by someone on the ship and hidden away. I do think Lucius will be discovered before the captains reunite. As much as I love ghosts, our guy is safe. Fearing for his life, but safe.
favorite Revenge crew member: OG Revenge-Frenchie or Buttons. If y'all haven't written him in your fics, including Buttons. He's so much fun to make the 'Cassandra' of your work! Let him be ominous and all-knowing, it's a great time! Frenchie because I'm always up for a bard, and he's a character that has so much potential. From being a bard to an 'assassin in training' with Izzy & Jim. They're fun to throw in!
Again, many thanks to @likethehotsauce! I would like to tag — absolutely zero pressure!!! I know most of you are mostly into Izzy, and I love hearing harsh opinions about Ed&Stede or general thoughts on the show looking back, after a year. @ivegotnonameidea @dianetastesmetal @gydima @downinthehull @treesofgreen @ladyrenity
#tag game#OFMD favorites#our flag means death#gentlebeard#stede bonnet#edward teach#see#Izzy isn't the only thing I like about this show.#ed x stede

Thoughts From a First-Time Viewer of The Vampire Diaries
Part Two: Reactions from Season One: Episodes 4-9
Okay but there is something FASCINATING about the idea of connecting sexual tension to losing vampiric control, especially when you think about the origins of it all within the gothic romance genre. Now, there’s obviously room to mess this up (looking at you Joss Whedon with Buffy/Angel + the whole soul plotline), but I’m definitely intrigued. It could also be a total one off and I’m trying to make an essay out of mole hole.
“My mother will be there and she’s a very proud gun owner.”
Actually choked on my drink at the Twilight reference. Too on the nose? Actually funny? The jury is still out.
Returning to my comment from part one: STEPHAN WENT TO COLLEGE IN THE 70s????? AND NOW HE’S IN HIGH SCHOOL??? Just put them all in college!!!!! I’m not actually someone that cares about age gaps when it comes to paranormal/fantastical beings and human people but dude went to college and just decided that he was going to go to high school again?? I can’t handle this.
The men of this show........ thin ice
Caroline now officially added to the “I’ll die for you” list! She’s insufferable at times but she’s also baby and I want to protect her
“If I had a nickel for every time I consumed content where vampires were Confederate soldiers, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.”
The increased lore has definitely helped pique my interest as the season has gone on! I do feel like the romance (on all levels really?) is the weakest element so far so I’m excited to learn more about the other characters and lore as we go! Though I do appreciate the angst which has been *chefs kiss* definitely good for writing inspo!
Low key going to dig into the music though, if there’s anything that vampire content gets right it’s the soundtrack that makes you feel nostalgic and want to drive around in my car and just think

November 2, 2023
Mmmm in the mood for some of those shortbread cookies I used to bake all the time in college. Maybe with some strawberry or blackcurrant jam. More economical (and probably healthier) than buying lofthouse cookies or oreos biweekly lol.
Bernadette Banner released another sewing video and the cape is so lovely, as is the little bag collab she has. I'm slowly getting into purses and the price is definitely steep, but I could totally save for it over time (this strategy also ensures I'm actually interested in the item rather than reacting to an influencer (even though I probably could just buy it outright, the waiting period serves an important purpose)). The other purses at that shop are just darling too. Anyway she released the video and the bag was out of stock in less than a day lol.
The dynamic contrast of Kronos Revealed (M Giacchino) brings me to tears sometimes. And I know part of it has to do with instrumentation and maybe even mixing but it's just so masterful. The Incredibles soundtrack really is something beyond. The BTAS orchestration is so amazing and has a similar nostalgic quality to it that modern superhero movies just aren't hitting (not that they need to, as style trends change across all industries, plus the settings are quite different). Music can give content so much more than an emotional route for the viewer to follow. For me, music plays such a huge role in giving a movie/show/game/video a sense of setting. When created with intention and care, it can help turn the setting into a character beyond a sandbox for the actors, I think, for me.
Today I'm thankful that we're over halfway through the semester. And, in the effort to celebrate little wins, I'm also thankful that I'm slowly but surely learning this semester, specifically from regen. While I may not be as quick with my thoughts/critiques/questions as the undergrads in that class (and I've kind of just settled into that discomfort, though I probably should put in extra effort to reach their level, I'm just putting my energy elsewhere (I wonder how long I can keep saying that "I'm adjusting")), I am taking in the information about experimental techniques! One of the postdocs in the lab gave a presentation this week, and I was able to understand a lot more about the methodology than I would have at the beginning of the semester!!! Maybe I didn't get everything, but this is progress.
Also, some rapid-fire's: Thankful that my evodevo prof extended the take home exam time via email sent exactly a minute after I woke up this morning to write three essays (that I'd previously outlined) in four hours (and while it probably would've worked [edit: lol] (I timed my sleep so well) I'm glad I didn't have to put it to the test) because I most certainly had overbooked myself this week (okay maybe these aren't going to be as rapid fire as I'd thought). Thankful for free hot apple cider and an apple donut this morning at some random event in front of my department's building on the coldest morning of the semester so far (first time having an apple donut and it was so good those people may have a repeat customer)!!!! Thankful that I don't have to care about my grades as much these days because otherwise I'd probably be spiraling after today's regen exam/quiz thing haha. ha. [edit 2, the following tuesday: I did better than I did the first exam...? feeling like this class is kinda graded on "did you try?" vibes and I don't hate it but it is certainly odd (maybe I just can't accept that I understand more than I think I do and it's just a lot of imposter syndroming)] Thankful that the postdoc I've been working with/learning from this week is a lot more chill as a person than her demeanor when evaluating other people's work initially led me to believe. Thankful that the undergrads in the lab are really cool (they know so much more than me lol)!!! And lastly, thankful that I actually got a 95, not an 89, on my anatomy midterm (even though, of course, I don't care :P) [edit: must clarify that I did not submit for a regrade bc I actually don't care enough to make the effort for that, they just did a whole-class one].

Thank you for tagging me @future-boi! Thank you for your kind words, I love your art and I’ve been especially enjoying your recent No Pines Marty art! :) Thank you @martymcfloop for tagging me as well, you also seem very chill! :)
I believe I’ve answered the questions already, but I can definitely give some fun song recommendations (I hope that’s okay!) :)
Rorschach by Cuarteto de Nos
I’ve always enjoyed songs about interpreting media (music, art, movies, etc) and Rorschach ink blots are so cool :)
Rocky Raccoon by The Beatles
I love songs with a narrative, and this is probably one of my favorites. :) Nothing like a dramatic cowboy showdown
Radha Kaise Na Jale by A. R. Rahman
Musical number from the Bollywood classic Lagaan (2001) about love and jealousy (I could write a whole essay on why Gauri and Elizabeth should have been badass best friends but that’s not the point). It is imperative to watch the scene from the movie, the visuals are half the fun.
Roads to Moscow by Al Stewart
About the German invasion of Russia during Word War II. A very well-researched and lyrically evocative historical folk-rock song.
Ojalá que te mueras by Pesado
A good song to listen to when you want someone to drop dead and experience everything they deserve. Or just to jam to. Either way
Occasional Tombstones by Thomas Newman
Instrumental for Erin Brockovich (2000), a film based on the legal case against Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) poisoning people with hexavalent chromium. A lot of the soundtrack has an emphasis on bitter determination.
Oliver’s Monologue by Siddhartha Khosla
Another instrumental from the first season of Only Murders in the Building (2021). I think this captures the feeling of mildly manic motivation very well.
You Don’t Own Me by Lesley Gore
A great empowerment song by the late great Lesley Gore
You Never Can Tell by Chuck Berry
:) Just an awesome song by Chuck Berry. I’ve never watched Pulp Fiction in it’s intended order, but the dance sequence tied to this song is pretty fun too
You Made Me the Thief of Your Heart by Sinéad O’Connor
Written for the film In the Name of the Father (1993), which was based on the Guildford Four and the Maguire Seven. The actual events and the movie are very intense but the song works well with it and as a stand-alone.
Get To Know Me Tag Game!
Thanks to @mythical-bookworm and @alex-a-fans for tagging me.
tbh this is just a song rec list LMAO [easier to open in a browser fyi]
1) Spell your name in songs
Y'all get two for the price of one cuz I couldn't decide if I wanted to go with all non-English songs or not.
The non-English songs are labeled with 🧋 in case you wanna avoid 🤪
Warning: Most of the songs in english have swear words so... just in case u got kids or ur strict parents around LMAO.
⚡️ F: Fighter Not a Lover
aro/ace people gonna love that shit ^ + no swear words
alt: fml u fucked me up
⚡️ U: URARA🧋
It translates to 'Oo-la-la', which I now realize is the magazine Biff was carrying around in the second movie... this was unintentional and the meaning of the song is very wholesome, trust me
alt: Upside Down
⚡️ T: this was a demo for this one song...
That one's like 50% f-bombs ^ i love it
alt: Toxic but its NOT Brittany, B*tch 💅
The most aggressive entry on this list
⚡️ U: Up Up and Away
The only f-bomb is in the second verse
alt: Unmei no Roulette Mawashite 🧋
'unmei' means 'destiny' so you know I had to include it
⚡️ R: Raining in Manila (half 🧋)
Couple of dudes just vibin' out in the studio, what's not to love?
alt: RAHHHH
^im convinced this is what suburbanites see in their nightmares
⚡️ E: Electricity (half 🧋)
alt: Extensyon
Both make up the most WHOLESOME entry in this
⚡️ -(hyphen): Hatid Sundo 🧋
Baby. Baby boi. Baby. vibes ^
alt: Hell to Sell
EVIL. vibes ^
🚫🧢 I have a problem with tonal whiplash. Did I cheat and use the hyphen to include the most wholesome and cute song right before pulling out the lowkey most scandalous song in the list? YES.
Just realized it doesn't work as well if you can't understand it, but trust me. I mean just listening to its vibes is enough 😩
⚡️ B: Balik Sa Umpisa 🧋
Any song that samples/remixes 'Stand By Me' is a W in my book.
alt: Bodybag
I'm just self-reporting at this point.
Ok the rest are very wholesome songs I swear
⚡️ O: Oretachi Rookies 🧋
alt: Oh, Imagine That
ok this one's tied for most wholesome in the list
⚡️ I: I/Me/Myself
gnc/nb people gonna love this shit ^
alt: I Really Like You
that was a struggle, R is the top pick to check out imo. E, O and I are the wholesome ones with no swear words if u care.
2) Why did you choose your URL?
Its based. ..off the song in the musical. I got back into the fandom because of the musical so I owe it that much. 'boi' sounds more gender-neutral than 'boy'
3) What is your middle name?
That's a secret!
4) If you could be any mythical creature, what would you be?
Shapeshifter.
5) Favorite color?
Purple. Lavender/Periwinkle specifically.
6) Song you love right now?
What? 🧋 The amount of crackhead energy, but genuine emotion... AND AESTHETIC. it was literally made for me LMAO Ken is so aggro but hes singing about not littering. like why is he so intimidating-- but i support the eco-friendly king. but fr the song is about waving ur flag with pride??? PRIDE???? and they look androgynous asf??? whats not to love
7) Top four fandoms? (Current Fandoms?)
Back to the Future
That's it
jk uhhh, Invincible
Thats it, dont wanna get into past fandoms rn
8) Tag nine people
mf u think i know 9 people??
im playin, lemme tag some cool people... not that u have to do this, i just wanted to bother u 🤪 but feel free to do it, i wanna hear other music 🥺🥺🥺
⚡️ @maxintime LOVE UR ART STYLE. BEEN TOO SHY TO BOTHER U THO 😭

why the percy jackson movies are good, actually:
1) they just are lol
okay but seriously before i get into this let me address the valid criticisms the movies get.
grover is a racist caricature. it was unnecessary and they destroyed his character to make him comic relief. also NO ONE asked for the weird persephone x grover thing in the first film 🤢
very weird unresolved tension between percy and annabeth... “i definitely have feelings for you, i just cant tell if theyre negative or positive” is top 5 worst lines in cinema. they had no business aging up the characters just to “sex-ify” the film. like we didnt need a gritty/dark version of what is supposed to be a children’s story
they made clarisse skinny 😐
as an adaptation, if you were looking for faithfulness, you didnt find it in the movies. (the musical is a much better adaptation!) like not even the notion of artistic license can excuse chris columbus for changing all that he did. thor freudenthal tried to fix it but by then it was too late. i understand the hatred for the movies based on this. (but at the same time, the sheer level of hate is unwarranted. ill explain later)
????
genuinely cant think of any other reasons they’re bad. i think those cover the main concerns. anyways, HERE IS WHY THE PERCY JACKSON MOVIES ARE GOOD, ACTUALLY:
logan lerman acting king!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when i tell you that man EMBODIED the character of percy jackson. i know his legacy has been forever tarnished by the bad reputation of these movies but i also know that everyone praises his work in it bc it is truly one of the best things about the films. like he is genuinely talented! THAT BEING SAID. i dont want to see him as poseidon in the percy jackson disney show. i just know that man is tired of being associated to greek mythology fanfiction. support him by watching his other movies instead please
jake abel, acting king number 2. ive said this before but he was ACTUALLY the perfect luke. the expressions. the delivery of his corny lines. this video. literally iconic behavior!
honestly the cast in general. alexandra daddario, nathan fillion hermes, stanley tucci dionysus, UMA THURMAN MEDUSA???!!!
the soundtrack... need i say more? (i don’t, but i will anyways. first movie featured highway to hell, pokerface, tiktok - not the app. the ke$ha song- among others. second movie featured fall out boy. like they didn’t have to go that hard with the songs but they DID). also they made luke listen to classical music while playing chess in his giant cruise ship’s captain’s quarters... perfect characterization!
rick riordan hates the movies and im sick and tired of that man so by default i love the movies. okay but seriously. i understand feeling insulted by a poorly done adaptation of your life’s greatest work, and i understand not wanting to watch something that is based on your writing. but he has made this grudge so excessive that out of spite im about to start unironically endorsing the films over his books. hes written whole essays griping about his hatred for the movies. which at the same time, is just FURTHER ASSOCIATING YOURSELF TO THE MOVIES! a part of me is convinced that as soon as the disney x fox merger happened, he ran to disney headquarters and started begging them for a tv show just so he could direct his anger towards the movies into something productive. like man WE GET IT! YOU DONT LIKE THE MOVIES!!!
they are.... SO funny???????? im pretty sure even if you havent seen the movies youve heard someone quote it? here are some notable ones:
“this is like high school without the musical”
“this is a pen. THIS IS A PEN!!”
“you can’t kill the janitors! those are working class citizens!”
“you’re burning money? we’re in a recession! that’s treason!!”
“tell me those aren’t sharks.” “....those aren’t sharks.”
that scene where tyson is like... olympus!!!! and percy is like... no...we’re in washington dc.....
“hey! what are you doing? don’t walk on my roof.”
“[starts singing It’s A Small World]”
the visual effects are objectively, pretty good
despite it not being a faithful adaptation, the movies have a decent plot. or at least i was still enthralled while watching them? like disconnect them from the books and its still a (mostly) solid story.
or if you dont want to think about the plot at all, just admit that they’re FUN and ICONIC and DEFINED THE 2010s.
you guys are just haters. the percy jackson movies are good and we deserved the titans curse adaptation. end of discussion
#pjo#pjo movies#blah blah blah#u all asked and i delivered.#and to all a good night🙏🏼#pro pjo films propaganda#100#pin
